KU softball stops SE Louisiana, 6-5, in College Station, Texas

Four runs in the first inning by the Kansas softball team paved the way for a 6-5 victory over Southeast Louisiana on Friday afternoon at the Reveille Classic in College Station, Texas.

Four Jayhawks recorded RBIs, including Brittany Jackson, who led off and went 4-for-4 at the plate, and Shelby Gayre, who was 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs.

Winning pitcher Tatum Goff tossed 6.2 innings, striking out six batters and walking none while giving up just three earned runs to earn her fourth victory in 10 appearances.

The win pushed KU to 7-9 this season.

Next up, KU will face SE Louisiana at 11 a.m. Saturday and host school Texas A&M at 3:30 p.m. Saturday before wrapping up the event at 10:30 a.m. Sunday with another clash with former Big 12 foe Texas A&M.
