KU men’s golf in 2nd place after opening round of Badger Invitational

The Kansas men’s golf team sits in second place after the first round of the Badger Invitational on Sunday at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wis.

Paving the way for the Jayhawks were junior Ben Sigel and freshman Luke Kluver. Sigel shot 3-under par 69 and sits in a five-way tie for first place on the leaderboard. Kluver carded 2-under par 70 and is tied for sixth.

Notre Dame shot 5-under par 283 and sits atop the leaderboard in the 16-team field. KU shot 2-under par 286 and trails the Fighting Irish by three strokes heading into Monday’s second round.

The second of three rounds is set for 9 a.m. Monday.
