Kansas Athletics announced Monday the hiring of Morgyn Seigfried as associate athletics director for creative services and communications.
According to KU, Seigfried will be responsible for the oversight and coordination of all creative services, communications and media relations within Kansas Athletics, and will begin working for the department on May 29.
“Morgyn brings a balance of creativity, experience and leadership to an area of our department that is inundated with requests for more content and storytelling on a regular basis,” KU Director of Athletics Jeff Long stated in a release. “That experience will enable Kansas Athletics to fully engage our fans and all our constituencies more than ever before.”
Seigfried will manage all facets of Kansas Athletics’ creative services department, including design, strategy, digital and social storytelling, digital and social advertising and ecommerce strategy and execution.
She also is slated to take a leadership role in partner relationship with the KAI website provider, and will assist staff with the strategic plan and the execution of goals for the athletic department’s website.
“I am so excited to join the University of Kansas staff and creatively grow the Jayhawk brand across all platforms,” Seigfried said in the KU release announcing her hiring. “I look forward to continually raising the bar with strategic and innovative ideas that will increase the KU brand across the nation.”
An associate AD at Temple University since Aug., 2018, Seigfried coordinated creation of innovative and engaging content for all of the Owls’ digital platforms and led, managed and developed the digital/video strategy for the university’s athletics department.
A Temple soccer player as an undergrad, Seigfried graduated in 2013 and spent one year at Lipscomb University as athletics content and marketing coordinator.
She returned to Temple the following year, first as social media coordinator, then as digital media coordinator. Seigfried earned her master’s degree in digital innovation in marketing from Temple in 2018, and became an associate AD.
