Ramsey, Wynne named to Big 12 All-Freshman Team

Kansas rookies Sydnee Ramsey and Morgyn Wynne were named to the 2019 Big 12 All-Freshman Team, which was announced by the conference on Thursday. Ramsey was an unanimous selection by the Big 12 coaches.

“I am very excited for Sydnee (Ramsey) and Morgyn (Wynne) to represent Kansas on the Big 12 All-Freshman team,” head coach Jennifer McFalls said in a team release. “It says a lot about what we are trying to build and the future we have at KU. Both are high-impact players and are excited about their future.”

Ramsey hit .263 while starting in 41 games this season. She led Kansas with 19 RBIs and was second in home runs (six) and hits (36). Ramsey was a staple at shortstop and started all 18 games of Big 12 action.

Wynne led Kansas in batting average (.298), home runs (seven), total bases (64) and slugging percentage (.529). She was also second on the team during conference play in batting average (.288) and RBIs (six), while tallying a team-high two home runs.
