Freshman Lexy Mills did not allow a single hit through six innings Monday afternoon at Arrocha Ballpark.
The no-hitter by Mills led the Kansas softball team to an 8-0 victory over Omaha for its second win a row. It is the first stretch back-to-back victory for the Jayhawks, who improved to 8-19 overall with the win.
Mills (3-4) faced 23 batters, striking out 10 Omaha (2-24) hitters and walking four more. She induced six groundouts and a pair of flyouts in her first no-hit bid of her career. Madison Sykes spotted Mills an early advantage with a solo homer to left center in the first inning.
Nine different batters recorded all nine hits for the Jayhawks. Morgyn Wynne smashed a homer in the fifth, while Jennifer Marwitz and Brittany Jackson each registered a double for KU.
Kansas travels to Wichita State at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
