'Younger' Jayhawks make unofficial debut at Late Night

Let the record show that the first basket of the Late Night scrimmage on a team loaded with McDonald’s All-Americans and high-profile players came from a freshman guard, who, until April, was not even ranked in the Top 150 by Rivals.com. Oh, and sophomore K.J. Lawson, who led all 15 Jayhawks who played with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting, was not even one of the first 10 players on the floor. By Matt Tait

Tom Keegan: Lagerald Vick's unexpected return should benefit guard and KU

The evening’s biggest shocker came when the final buzzer sounded on the Late Night scrimmage and one of the quietest players in recent Kansas basketball history took the court with microphone in hand. And then Lagerald Vick thanked the crowd for coming. Public speaking is outside of Vick’s comfort zone, but there really won’t be any comfort zone for him in his final season. He’ll have to be comfortable with whatever the coach asks of him. By Tom Keegan
