Kansas volleyball outlasts Oklahoma in 5 sets

Behind a record-setting night for freshman middle blocker Rachel Langs, the University of Kansas volleyball team defeated Oklahoma in five sets (22-25, 25-16, 18-25, 25-20, 15-10) in a league clash Wednesday at McCasland Field House.

The Jayhawks (9-4, 2-0 Big 12) lost the first set before claiming their fourth five-set match victory of the season. Langs recorded 14 blocks to set an all-time program record for blocks in a match. She also registered the team's first block-kill double-double this season by adding 10 kills to her 14 blocks.

Senior Gabby Simpson was credited with 10 assists, 13 digs, nine blocks and eight kills. Freshman Camryn Ennis, meanwhile, notched her seventh double-double this season with 39 assists and 13 digs. Junior outside hitter Jada Burse paced the Jayhawks with 20 kills, while junior libero Allie Nelson posted 25 digs.

Kansas returns to action against West Virginia at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Horejsi Family Athletics Center.

What a match. So many impressive individual performances. Jada, Ashley and Zoe killing it at the net...Camryn setting everyone up...Allie digging 25....and 4 points in a row in the 3rd (I think) set from Gabby & Rachel's wicked blocks. Wow.
