Bullpen leads KU baseball past Baylor, 6-5

Three Kansas relievers combined to pitch five scoreless innings Friday, lifting the KU baseball team to a 6-5 road victory over Baylor for their first Big 12 win of the season at Baylor Ballpark.

The Jayhawks (14-8, 1-3 in Big 12) pulled ahead when Jaxx Groshans scored on a fielder’s choice in the third inning. Benjamin Sems added a solo homer in the fourth before Gabriel Sotomayor, Ryan Cyr and Zack Leban allowed two hits in the final five frames.

The series will continue at 2 p.m. today.
