With strong pitching, Kansas softball opened the season with back-to-back wins Friday over Akron and Stetson in Deland, Fla.
Junior Andie Formby pitched a complete game in a 5-3 victory over Akron, boosted by the offense in a four-run sixth inning. Senior Sarah Miller allowed one hit in six innings pitched during a 2-1 win against Stetson.
The Jayhawks (2-0) will face the College of Charleston and Akron today.
