KU golfers 4th in Wisconsin

Charlie Hillier and Andy Spencer fired 1-under-par 71s, and Kansas’ men’s golfer team was fourth among 16 teams after the first round of the Badger Invitational on Sunday in Madison, Wis.

Hillier and Spencer were tied for 10th. KU’s Daniel Hudson and Jake Scarrow shot 73s and were tied for 29th, and Daniel Sutton was tied for 43rd after a 74.

KU was 12 strokes behind leader Texas A&M in the team standings.

“I thought we played fairly solid on the front nine,” KU coach Jamie Bermel said. “We got a little sloppy on the back.”
