Kansas junior guard Jessica Washington (3) goes for a running jump shot over a converging group of Texas defenders, Lashaan Higgs (10), Khaleann Caron-Goudreau (30) and Kelsey Lang (40) on Wednesday at Allen Fieldhouse.

A few hours before the release of the men’s conference schedule, the Big 12 Conference released the complete women’s basketball schedule for the upcoming season.

Led by 2017 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year Jessica Washington, the Jayhawks have adopted a “Tough and Together” mantra for the 2017-18 campaign.

Kansas’ third season under head coach Brandon Schneider begins with two exhibition games, followed by nine non-conference games in Allen Fieldhouse. The Jayhawks have just two competitions on the road before beginning Big 12 play at the end of December.

Conference play begins on Thursday, Dec. 28 at Iowa State and Kansas will welcome TCU to Allen Fieldhouse for the first Big 12 home game of the year on Sunday, Dec. 31.

The Jayhawks will face the six Big 12 teams that appeared in the NCAA Tournament last season twice each in the league’s double round-robin format, including two teams that made appearances in the NCAA Sweet 16. Inside Allen Fieldhouse, the Jayhawks host TCU (Dec. 31), Baylor (Jan. 6), West Virginia (Jan. 10), Texas Tech (Jan. 17), Kansas State (Jan. 28), Texas (Jan. 31), Oklahoma (Feb. 10), Oklahoma State (Feb. 21) and Iowa State (Feb. 27).

The 2018 Phillips Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship will be held March 2-5 at Chesapeake Arena in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Kansas returns seven letter winners from the 2016-17 campaign and added seven newcomers during the offseason.
