Kansas’ baseball team managed just one hit in an 8-0 loss to West Virginia on Saturday in Morgantown, W.Va.

Michael Grove retired the first 23 KU hitters before David Kyriacou lined a single to center field with two outs in the eighth inning.

“In the 15 years I have been at Kansas, that is one of the most dominant pitching performances I have ever seen,” KU coach Ritch Price said. “We only had two good at bats, to show you how dominant that was. That is as good a performance I have ever seen.”

KU fell to 13-17 overall, 3-5 in the Big 12, and West Virginia improved to 19-10 and 6-2.

The two teams will wrap up the series at 11:30 a.m. today.
