? The Kansas soccer team lost to Nebraska, 1-0, Friday after giving up a goal with less than 26 seconds left in double overtime.

“This is a really tough one to swallow because I thought we played really well tonight,” KU coach Mark Francis said. “We created chances to score and, in the second half, I thought we controlled the match well. We defended well. We competed well. It’s really disappointing that this one got away from us.”

The Huskers (4-1-0) denied the Jayhawks (2-2-1) their second straight draw after earning a corner kick in the final seconds. Nebraska’s Brenna Ochoa was credited with the goal, which glanced off a Kansas defender before slipping past KU goalkeeper Maddie Dobyns, who collected three saves on the night.

KU had 11 shots in the match, seven on goal, while NU took 13 shots, with four on target.

The Jayhawks will play again in Lincoln at 10 a.m. Sunday against Valparaiso.
