Prep point guards looking for a place to play college basketball continue to flock to the Kansas men’s basketball program.

Yet another PG from the Class of 2019 on Thursday made known his plans to attend this year’s Late Night in the Phog event Oct. 1 at Allen Fieldhouse.

Grant Sherfield, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound point guard from Mansfield Summit High in Arlington, Texas, told Matt Scott of TheShiver.com that he planned to take an unofficial visit to Late Night next month.

247Sports ranks Sherfield as a five-star prospect and the 23rd best player in his class. Rivals.com ranks him as a four-star prospect and the No. 19 player in the 2019 class.

Sherfield currently holds offers from Baylor, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M and UCLA, among others. KU assistant Jerrance Howard is listed as the Jayhawks’ lead recruiter for the 2019 point guard.

Sherfield’s plans to attend Late Night make him the sixth guard to commit to the visit, joining fellow-2019 point guard Markese Jacobs, Class of 2017 combo guards Marcus Garrett (already a KU commitment) and Troy Brown as well as 2017 point guard Collin Sexton and 2018 point guard Brandon Williams.
