An official announcement from adidas and KU Tuesday morning unveiled the special uniforms Kansas will wear in the 2016 Armed Forces Classic in Honolulu.

A photo of the special uniforms Kansas will wear during the Armed Forces Classic in Honolulu, where the third-ranked Jayhawks will take on No. 11 Indiana on Nov. 11, leaked a couple of weeks ago.

But the official announcement from adidas and KU came Tuesday morning.

The Jayhawks, Hoosiers, Arizona Wildcats and Michigan State Spartans all will take part in the special double header and the Jayhawks will wear special blue uniforms that honor both Veteran’s Day and the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

According to a release, the Armed Forces Classic uniforms display a digital camouflage pattern inspired by military fatigues. Bold contrasting is present along the jersey collar and waistband, using white terrycloth material for sweat management and optimal performance during the game’s critical moments.

In addition, the back of the jerseys display an emblem featuring “REMEMBER PEARL HARBOR” alongside two anchors, an eagle and a star, which take inspiration from Navy medals and accolades.

A detail of the commemorative patch about the attack on Pearl Harbor is shown on the jersey Kansas will wear in the 2016 Armed Forces Classic in Honolulu.

Instead of names on the backs of the jerseys, the words “COURAGE” and “HONOR” will be slapped across the backs of the players participating in the game.

The commemorative uniforms are available for sale at local retailers and will be worn for this one game only.
