Kansas sophomore pitcher Andie Formby goes through her pitching motion during the Jayhawks' game against Omaha Sunday afternoon at Arrocha Ballpark.

Sophomore right-hander Andie Formby threw her third complete-game shutout of the season and ran her scoreless streak to 172/3 innings in Kansas University 5-0 softball victory over Nebraska-Omaha on Sunday at Arrocha Ballpark at Rock Chalk Park.

Formby (7-1) allowed just two hits, with a walk and seven strikeouts over the full seven innings.

“Andie looked really good today and has looked great for the last few weekends. Well, let’s be honest, she’s been great all season,” KU coach Megan Smith said. “Andie is by far the hardest worker on the team. She cares about every rep that she takes a practice. She puts a lot of time, thought and energy in everything that she does. She’s an unbelievable student-athlete to coach, and it’s fun to watch her.”

Daniella Chavez paced KU (15-9) offensively, going 1-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Shannon McGinley was 3-for-4 with a run, and Jessie Roane was 2-for-3 as the Jayhawks rapped 10 hits against Omaha (10-15).

Kansas will play Wednesday at Creighton.
