Kansas University baseball left fielder Devin Foyle was named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American team, Collegiate Baseball announced Wednesday.

“What a great honor,” Foyle said. “There are many great players on that list and to be recognized in their company means a lot.”

Foyle started 54 of KU’s 56 games as a freshman and played in 55. He hit .290 (56 for 193), with 14 doubles, four triples, three home runs, 32 RBIs and 37 runs score. His .451 slugging percentage and .400 on-base percentage ranked third on the team, and he was second with 14 hit-by-pitches — a KU freshman record.
