KU men’s golfers in ninth place

By Staff     Apr 5, 2016

? A pair of Kansas University men’s golfers are positioned inside the top 10 as the Jayhawks sit in ninth place after the second round of Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate at Bulls Bay Golf Club.

In the second day of the three-day event, KU carded a score of 289 to bring its two-day total to 580. South Carolina leads the 15-team field by three strokes.

“We played better today, but still had to count another 4-over round,” KU coach Jamie Bermel said. “Connor Peck was impressive today, and Charlie Hillier hung right in there all day. We will need to get four good scores on Tuesday if we are going to move up the leaderboard.”

Peck is tied for fifth at 140, while Hillier is one stroke back in eighth.

Other Kansas scores: Ben Welle, tied for 40th, 147; Chase Hanna, tied for 61st, 152; and Daniel Hudson, tied for 70th, 156.

The tournament concludes today.
