KU men’s golf in first at Desert

? Connor Peck shot his Kansas University-career-low round of 64 and is tied for second overall, while KU took sole possession of first place in the team race after the second round of the Desert Shootout Men’s Golf Classic on Friday at Palm Valley Golf Club.

Peck is at 8-under 136, tied for second place with Denver’s Chris Korte. Wichita State’s Louis Cohen Boyer leads at 135.

Kansas’ Brock Drogosch is tied for fourth at 137.

KU leads the team race with 550 strokes. Runner-up Denver is at 555.

KU’s other golfers: Daniel Hudson, tied for 10th, 139; Jacques Wilson (as an individual) and Ben Welle, tied for 14th, 140; and Chase Hanna, tied for 34th, 144.

The tournament will resume today.

Friday in Goodyear, Ariz.
