KU softball rallies, 5-4

Taylor McElhaney doubled home two runs in the sixth inning, and Kansas University’s softball team rallied past Indiana State, 5-4, on Tuesday at Arrocha Ballpark.

KU trailed 4-1 entering the bottom of the fifth.

The Jayhawks scored twice in the fifth on an RBI double by Chaley Brickey and a run-scoring single by Maddie Stein.

Alicia Pille (15-0) pitched two innings of perfect relief for the win.

KU improved to 25-2 while Indiana State fell to 6-14.

Next action for the Jayhawks will be Friday when they host Eastern Michgan at 1 p.m. and UMKC at 3:30 p.m. in the Rock Chalk Challenge.
