Fayetteville, Ark. ? Kansas University senior Lindsay Vollmer placed 14th in the pentathlon Saturday at the NCAA Indoor.
A leg injury forced Vollmer to pull out of the pentathlon’s final event, the 800 meters. But Vollmer’s final score of 3,432 points was enough to give her second-team All-America status for the second time in her career.
Vollmer was third in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.29, breaking Ashley Brown’s school record.
Vollmer went 5-93/4 in the high jump, 39-83/4 in the shot put and 18-81/2 in the long jump.
She was fifth overall entering the 800 meters. But Vollmer suffered a leg injury while warming up for the long jump and withdrew from the 800 after 200 meters.
Next action for the KU track team is the Texas Relays on March 25-28 in Austin, Texas.
