KU softball takes two, raises record to 19-1

? Kansas University’s softball team ran its winning streak to seven and improved to 19-1 with a pair of victories Friday in the Stetson Classic.

The Jayhawks defeated La Salle, 8-1, and Chattanooga, 11-1.

Against La Salle, KU broke open a close game with six runs in the top of the seventh. Bryn Houlton (2-0) earned the victory, and Alicia Pille picked up her third save.

Pille (10-0) pitched a two-hitter against Chattanooga. The Jayhawks exploded for seven runs in the first and added three more in the second.

Lily Behrmann tagged a home run against La Salle, and Maddie Stein and Daniella Chavez homered against Chattanooga.

Behrmann went 3-for-4 in KU’s victory over La Salle and added two RBIs against Chattanooga.

KU will meet Chattanooga at 10 a.m. and Stetson at 3 p.m. today.
