Kansas University junior forward Perry Ellis has decided to return to KU for his senior season, Ellis revealed at Monday night’s postseason awards banquet at Lawrence’s Holiday Inn.
“There’s still a lot left on the table, and I feel like it would be best for me to come back,” Ellis said after winning KU’s Danny Manning Mr. Jayhawk award.
The 6-foot-8 Wichita native was considered a possible second-round NBA Draft pick after averaging 13.8 points and 6.9 boards his junior season.
Ellis led the Jayhawks in scoring and rebounding in 2014-15, while making 45.7 percent of his shot attempts and hitting 18 of 46 three-pointers (39.1 percent).
In conference games, those numbers improved to 15.1 points and 7.2 rebounds, as well as 50-percent shooting from the field and 47.6 percent accuracy (10-for-21) from long distance.
