Lubbock, Texas ? Held scoreless through six innings, Kansas University rallied with a four-run seventh, but the Jayhawks couldn’t quite overcome Texas Tech in a 5-4 KU softball setback Sunday at Rocky Johnson Field.
Kansas (33-7 overall, 4-5 Big 12) managed nine hits on the day — and 38 for the weekend — but the Red Raiders (18-23, 2-7) won the series, 2-1.
KU trailed, 5-0, heading into the seventh inning. The Jayhawks plated four runs and had the tying run on third.
Chaley Brickey led the KU offense, going 3-for-4 with a run and three RBIs courtesy of her seventh-inning home run.
Kansas will travel April 18-19 to Tulsa.
