Fort Collins, Colo. ? Kansas University golfer Chase Hanna placed second, and KU placed second as a team at the Ram Masters Invitational on Tuesday at the Fort Collins Country Club.
Hanna shot a three-round 1-over 211 to tie for second, just a stroke off the lead.
KU junior Ben Welle’s third-round 77 (+5) was declared disqualified when he and Bermel found a scoring error and turned it into tournament officials after Welle’s scorecard had been signed. Welle’s score was KU’s fifth-highest score Tuesday and would not have counted toward the team total. Welle would have finished tied for 12th individually had his 77 held up, yet he ended 84th due to the disqualification.
CSU won with 855 strokes. Kansas shot 859.
Kansas’ other scores: Connor Peck, tied for 14th, 217; Spencer Painton, tied for 25th, 219; Bryce Brown, tied for 31st, 221; and Daniel Hudson, tied for 43rd, 223.
