COLUMBUS, NEB. ? Former Kansas University golfer Chris Thompson won the Wells Fargo Nebraska Open by shooting a three-round 196 (17-under) Sept. 12-14 at Elks Country Club. Thompson was a KU All-American in 1998 and 1999.
Another KU two-time All-American (1999 and 2000), Ryan Vermeer, finished tied for seventh in the event with a three-round 206.
