KU women’s golf off to solid start

? Kansas University junior Yupaporn Kawinpakorn shot a 3-under 69 to put herself in third place after the first round of the Palmetto Intercollegiate women’s golf tournament Sunday at Turtle Point Golf Course.

Kawinpakorn trails co-leaders Eunice Yi, of Georgia Regents-Augusta, and Coastal Carolina’s Lena Schaeffner by a stroke.

As a team, Kansas is tied with GRU Augusta for third at 288, behind Coastal Carolina (282) and Furman (285).

KU’s other scores: Michelle Woods, tied for 12th, 72; Pornvipa Sakdee, tied for 14th, 73; Minami Levonowich, tied for 23rd, 74; and Gabriella DiMarco, tied for 77th, 80.
