KU men’s golf third in El Paso

? Chase Hanna tied for third and Ben Welle tied for ninth as Kansas University’s men’s golf placed third at the Price’s Give ‘Em Five Invitational at the Butterfield Trail Golf Course on Sunday.

Hanna finished with a 12-under 132 and Welle at 206.

Kansas shot 822 to trail champion New Mexico State (818) and UMKC (819).

“The guys played solid today, but we still had to count a triple bogey and a double. We lost by four shots,” Kansas coach Jamie Bermel said.

Kansas’ other results: Gary Daoust, competing as an individual, seventh, 204; Logan Philley, tied for 14th, 207; Brock Drogosch, tied for 27th, 211; and Connor Peck, tied for 69th, 224.
