Noblesville, Ind. ? Kansas University junior Ben Welle is tied for eighth, and the KU men’s golf team is tied for fifth after the first day of the Sagamore Preview on Monday at the Sagamore Club.
Welle shot even-par 144 over the first two rounds. Leader Thomas Detry of Illinois is at 5-under 139.
Kansas’ other scores: Chase Hanna, tied for 20th, 149; Logan Philley, tied for 26th, 150; Spencer Painton, tied for 32nd, 151; and Connor Peck, tied for 68th, 159.
