Kansas women tapped eighth in Big 12 poll

Kansas University’s women’s basketball team was picked to finish eighth in the Big 12 in a poll of league coaches released Wednesday.

The Big 12 coaches picked Texas to edge Baylor for the top spot.

UT earned five first-place votes and 73 points in the poll, while Baylor had two first-place votes and 71 points. West Virginia (2 first-place votes) had 66 points. Oklahoma State received the last first-place vote and had 63 points.

Oklahoma (46 points), Iowa State (42), TCU (33), Kansas (28), Kansas State (16) and Texas Tech (12) rounded out the poll.
