Norman, Okla. ? Oklahoma’s Rasha Roberts scored on a penalty kick late in the first half, and the Sooners defeated Kansas University, 1-0, on Friday night in Big 12 women’s soccer.
The Jayhawks ended the regular season 15-4-0 and third in the league at 5-3-0. OU improved to 9-7-3 and 3-4-1.
“I thought Oklahoma played well tonight,” KU coach Mark Francis said. “They made it tough for us to break them down and really limited our chances. We’re playing these guys again next week, so we’ll definitely need to be more efficient in the attacking third and be better at breaking down their back five.”
The loss was KU’s first Big 12 road setback this season.
The Jayhawks will meet Oklahoma in the first round of the Big 12 tournament at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri.
