Austin, Texas ? Kansas University softball snapped out of a nasty offensive slump and ended a pair of losing streaks in the process.
The Jayhawks collected 10 hits in a 5-2 victory over Texas on Saturday, ending a seven-game losing skid overall and 14-game skid against UT. It also was Kansas’ first win in Austin since 2007.
The Jayhawks (30-20 overall, 4-10 Big 12) entered having scored just one run in the last five games combined.
They doubled that output in the first inning alone.
Texas fell to 31-20, 10-5.
The teams will conclude their series with a single game at 1 p.m. today.
