KU’s Stigler 2nd at U.S. Track

? Kansas University senior Michael Stigler finished runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles at the USA Track&Field Championships on Sunday.

Stigler, from Canyon, Texas, was the fourth qualifier out of semifinals Saturday in 49.86. He crossed Sunday in 49.63, just .7 seconds behind winner Johnny Dutch and .53 seconds ahead of Reggie Wyatt, the third-place finisher and the 2013 NCAA champion.

Also Sunday, KU grad Jessica Maroszek competed in the discus but failed to record a fair mark on any of her three attempts.
