Former KU golfer Woodland makes up ground, survives cut at British Open

? In danger of missing the cut after an opening-round 75, former Kansas University golfer Gary Woodland survived and then some with a strong second round Friday at the British Open.

Woodland carded an eagle, two birdies and just one bogey for a 3-under 69, which moved him up 74 spots into a tie for 31st place. Woodland enters the weekend with an even-par total, cruising past the 3-over cut.
