Winter Park, Fla. ? Kansas University’s swimming and diving team began its annual training trip with victories over Rollins College (202-55) and the University of Tampa (195.5-61.5)on Saturday.
KU swimmers swept the top three spots in the 200-yard medley relay, won the 500 freestyle relay and won the 200 free relay.
Jayhawks who won individual events were: Deanna Marks (50 butterfly), Sofiia Filatova (100 fly), Morgan Sharp (200 free, 100 free), Tulduz “Yulya” Kuchkarova (50 back, 100 back) and Bryce Hinde (100 breaststroke, 50 breaststroke).
Kansas will head to Puerto Rico for a weeklong training camp.
“We’ve got a good picture of where we are at after the meet today,” KU coach Clark Campbell said. “We have a good opportunity this week to address key points that will make each individual better. It will be time to simply focus on becoming better athletes.”
