TALLAHASSEE, FLA. ? Kansas University senior Thanuttra Boonraksasat carded a 1-under 71 and finished in the top five Friday after day one of the Florida State Matchup.
Boonraksasat sat at 2-over par through the first 11 holes. She was able to recover as she birdied three of her final six holes, placing her in a tie for third.
The Jayhawks as a team shot a 21-over 309, which places them in ninth place trailing eighth-place Mississippi State by four strokes.
Second for the Jayhawks was freshman Pornvipa Sakdee, who finished with a 6-over 78, good for a tie for 40th of all individuals. Sophomore Yupaporn Kawinpakorn fell one shot behind Sakdee, shooting a 79 for a tie for 44th.
KU senior Meghan Potee shot a 9-over 81 for a tie for 52nd, and junior Minami Levonowich had an 84 for 59th place.
