KU swimming finishes at Winter Nationals

Kansas University freshman Hannah Driscoll swam the fastest time by a Jayhawk in the 100-yard freestyle this season, breaststrokers Bryce Hinde and Lydia Pocisk each dropped nearly five seconds from their season-best times, and Chelsie Miller swam a Big 12-leading 1,650-yard freestyle as KU finished competition Saturday at the AT&T USA Winter Nationals.

KU alumna Danielle Herrmann swam to a sixth-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke.

Driscoll, who set a lifetime best in a 200-yard freestyle time trial on Thursday, finished 48th in the 100 free prelims Saturday morning with a time of 51.22.

Fellow freshman Pocisk cut 4.86 seconds off her season-best time in the 200-yard breaststroke prelims to finish 59th in 2:19.10. Bryce Hinde dropped 4.74 seconds from her season-best time to finish 33rd in the same event in 2:16.54.

Miller placed 21st overall with a time of 16:34.48.
