Men’s golf duo top 10 at Big 12

? Kansas University sophomore Ben Welle fired a 1-over 73 and KU freshman Chase Hanna carded a 2-over 74 to tie for ninth place after the third round of the Big 12 golf championship Saturday at Whispering Pines.

Welle and Hanna each had a three-round total of 4-over 220.

The Jayhawks were eighth in the nine-team field with a three-round total of 900. Texas Tech leads at 866, followed by Texas at 867.

Senior Ryley Haas shot a 5-over par 77 and was in 31st with a three-round score of 227. Sophomore Connor Peck shot 78 for a 236 and a tie for 41st, and junior Logan Philley shot 81 (239, 44th place).

The tournament will conclude with 18 holes today.
