? The Kansas University soccer team gave up two goals in the first 25 minutes of a Big 12 Championship quarterfinal match against West Virginia and lost, 3-0, Wednesday at Swope Soccer Village.

The Jayhawks finish the season with a 7-11-2 record, 2-6-1 against Big 12 foes.

“I was proud of the way our girls battled in the second half,” KU coach Mark Francis said. “You have to hand it to West Virginia. They’re a good team, especially offensively with so many weapons.”

KU’s Caroline Kastor and Ashley Williams had two shots each. Kansas goalkeeper Kaitlyn Stroud had eight saves.
