Kansas University senior sprinter Paris Daniels was named Outstanding Female Performer of the Year, and Kansas’ Stanley Redwine was named Coach of the Year by the Big 12 Conference on Wednesday.
“I’m excited about this honor and very thankful for it,” said Redwine, in his 13th year at KU. “I’m more excited though about the fact that Paris was recognized. It’s great to have a Kansas athlete get an award like this and shows where we are as a program.”
It was Redwine’s third conference honor and second this season after being named the league’s indoor Coach of the Year in March. He also claimed men’s outdoor coach of the year honors in 2005.
