Sydney Conley highlights KU track showings

Kansas University freshman Sydney Conley and the KU men’s distance medley relay team each posted season bests Friday in the Alex Wilson Last Chance track meet at South Bend, Ind.

Sophomores Reid Buchanan and Michael Hester and juniors Brendan Soucie and Josh Munsch combined for the fourth-fastest distance medley relay time in KU history, 9:38.89 for 21st place.

Conley had the best performance of her freshman campaign in the long jump, 20-3, for fourth place.

In the Arkansas Last Chance Qualifier in Fayetteville, Ark., freshman Tianna Valentine was second in the 60 meters in 7.38. In the men’s pole vault, Casey Bowen cleared the highest bar of his career, 17-41/2, for 10th place. Junior Alex Bishop tied for 12th (16-103/4), and sophomore Greg Lupton finished 17th (16-103/4).

Sophomore Jonathan Fuller took second in the high jump at Fayetteville with a jump of 6-111/2.
