Kansas University again swept the Big 12 volleyball player-of-the-week honors on Monday.

Tiana Dockery (offensive), Cassie Wait (defensive) and Ainise Havili (rookie) were honored by the league for their performances the week of Nov. 3-10.

Kansas last week picked up a home victory against Baylor and on the road at Texas Tech to improve to 18-7 overall, 6-5 Big 12, putting the Jayhawks in sole possession of fourth place.

“Every win is a big win in conference play,” KU coach Ray Bechard said. “Each team is simply too talented to beat with just one or two of your players having a good night. All of our players have to play at a high level. These three were a big part of that, and they had good support from their teammates, too. It is great to see these three get recognition, but they would agree that it’s even better to see our team finding ways to win in this crucial part of the season.”

Kansas University’s Caroline Jarmoc and Brianne Riley earned Big 12 Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week honors, respectively, marking the first time Kansas earned both awards in the same week in Big 12 history.

“Honors like these are a direct reflection of your team’s performance,” coach Ray Bechard said. “I think if you look at the history of how these awards are doled out, they signify good individual performances of which these two are very deserving. More importantly, I think they also signify a team that’s playing very well. I’m very excited that the Jayhawk volleyball program is being recognized.”

Jarmoc picked up tournament MVP honors for the second week in a row as the fourth-year junior posted 38 kills and a .541 hitting percentage in the Jayhawk Invitational over the weekend. Riley posted double-digit dig totals in KU’s four matches last week, a total of 76 over 13 sets.
