KU Barnstorming Tour kicks off tonight

KU seniors Tyshawn Taylor, Conner Teahan and Jordan Juenemann will compete in a Barnstorming Tour game at 7:30 tonight at Roeland Park’s Bishop Miege High School. The three will be part of a team to face KC area high school all-stars. Prior to the game, Taylor will sign copies of the book “Beyond the Phog” from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Kansas Sampler, 97th and Quivira Road, Overland Park, across the street from Oak Park Mall. Teahan and Juenemann will sign starting at 6 p.m. at Miege.

I guess we'll learn who the other "barnstorming" teamates will be in a follow up story. Surely, it's not three an three.

I saw one of these things... If I remember right, it is the out going seniors mixed with former players and maybe a couple random people from around the area. I went to Heinrich and Collison's Barnstorming game and remember that there was a 9 year old girl pulled from the stands that played for a bit!

Tyshawn Taylor vs. Kansas High School Athletes... HAHAHA

The game definitely won't be played down in the paint?

You mean "HAHAHA" to Kansas High School Athletes like Perry Ellis and Conner Frankamp?

Only a friendly jab and not a flame.

Not sure why this article states the Barnstorming Tour "kicks off tonight"...I saw them at Wichita East a couple of weeks ago. Tyshawn didn't show up, but Teahan, Juenemann and 3 WSU seniors played a Wichita High School All-Star team...which surprisingly did not include Ellis or Frankamp.

Yes, really dumb headline/article. Its been going on for at least two weeks. Two nights before Wichita, they were down in Mound City, KS.

I was there too. Total let-down that Tyshawn pulled a no-show, after they had rescheduled the event once to accommodate his schedule. The Wichita State players - namely Joe Raglan & David Kyles - were really impressive. It was more like the Shockers barnstorming tour.

ok smart people

  1. the barnstorming is for high school seniors

  2. Frankcamp isn't a senior so he wouldnt be playing anyways

  3. the barnstorming is more for the smaller kansas schools then the bigger so it gives the kids who didn't get a scholarship a chance to play against that kind of talent

you guys might want to do a little research before you post this stuff....and yes sometimes the players pull younger kids from the stands for fun when they need breaks

In 2008 during a barnstorming game in Dodge City, Darnell Jackson pulled my 5 year old nephew out of the stands and held him up to the rim for the most thunderous slam dunk a five year old could muster. What a memory.
