San Antonio ? Kansas University managed just one run off six hits in a 2-1 college baseball loss to Indiana State in the first game of the Irish Baseball Classic on Thursday.
James Stanfield had three of KU’s hits.
Drew Morovick (1-1) took the loss after allowing a run — earned — off nine hits over 52/3 innings.
Jordan Jakubov allowed the other run off three hits over 31/3 innings.
Indiana State, which has won eight straight, improved to 13-4.
Kansas fell to 8-8.
The Jayhawks will face tournament host Notre Dame on Friday.
