Kansas track team finishes regular season

? The Kansas University track and field team finished its regular season Saturday at the Alex Wilson Invitational.

The men’s 4×400-meter relay team, which included freshmen Michael Stigler, Mike Hester, Kenneth McCuin and junior Kyle Clemons,ran a season-best 3:10.57. That time ranked as the third-fastest in school history, but KU took 10th place out of 11 teams at the invitational.

Junior Andrea Geubelle took the invitational title in the long jump Friday night. Geubelle’s mark of 6.37 meters ranks sixth in the nation this season.

The Jayhawks will compete next at the NCAA Indoor Championships March 10-11 in Boise, Idaho. Six female athletes will take the track in four events, starting at 3 p.m. Friday.
