San Francisco ? Former Kansas University golfer Gary Woodland shot a solid if not spectacular 4-over-par 74 on the opening day of the U.S. Open on Thursday at The Olympic Club and sits in the middle of the pack.
Woodland is tied for 52nd.
He had four bogeys and a double bogey with just one birdie on the front nine, but had two birdies and just one bogey on the back.
