Volleyball tops Jayhawks’ fall GPA list

Volleyball and women’s golf were the top teams among the eight that posted grade-point averages of 3.0 and above for Kansas University’s fall 2011 semester.

Volleyball led with a cumulative 3.25 GPA, with women’s golf right behind at 3.23.

All KU student-athletes combined for a 2.84 GPA. A total of 239 student-athletes -47 percent of all student-athletes on active rosters — earned spots on the Athletics Director’s Honor Roll for GPAs of 3.0 or better. Among those were 18 with perfect 4.0 GPAs.

Football was the lowest with a 2.46 GPA. Men’s basketball had a 2.63 and women’s basketball a 2.85.
