Trinity, Texas ? Kansas University’s men’s golf team placed 10th of 10 teams at the Big 12 Championships on Sunday at Whispering Pines Golf Club.
“It was a hard golf course,” Kansas coach Kit Grove said. “We just had a bad week on a tough course. We’re obviously in one of the toughest conferences in the country, but to not be in contention is very disappointing.”
KU shot a final-day 27-over 315 and a four-round total of 94-over 1246.
Texas A&M won with a 1165 (+13), and Baylor’s Joakim Mikkelsen was low individual with a 3-under 285.

McClure ended the tournament tied for 27th with a 72-hole total of 305 (+17).
Senior Doug Quinones concluded his career by leading the Jayhawks on the last day with a 5-over 77. Junior Chris Gilbert and McClure finished one shot off his pace with rounds of 78 Sunday.
