Santa Cruz, Calif. ? Kansas University’s Chris Gilbert opened his final round with 12 straight pars and finished with a 72 to place ninth at the Western Intercollegiate on Sunday.
Gilbert shot a three-round score of 2-over 212 for his third top-10 finish in the past four events.
As a team, the Jayhawks struggled on the final day with a 41-over 391 to finish in 12th place, five spots below where it started the day.
