Kansas University junior soccer midfielder Whitney Berry on Tuesday was named Big 12 offensive player of the week for games played Sept. 26-Oct. 2.
Berry tallied three goals and an assist in KU’s 3-2 in double overtime victory over Texas last Friday at the Jayhawk Soccer Complex. It was only KU’s third victory over Texas in program history.
Berry’s three goals brought her nation-leading total to 11 for the season, one shy of the KU single-season record. Her 23 career assists rank third all-time at Kansas.
Kansas returns to action at 4 p.m. Friday against Baylor at the Jayhawk Soccer Complex.
Kansas University sophomore midfielder/forward Whitney Berry was named to the All-Big 12 second team Monday.
This is the third conference honor for Berry, as she garnered second-team and All-Newcomer-team honors after her 2009 freshman campaign.
Berry led the Jayhawks in assists with three and scored three goals.
